Final Draft
Advanced Personal Essay Writing Workshop…
…to refine your writing and get published.
Saturday ONLINE (live ZOOM) 10-week intensive workshop with Andrea Askowitz
9:30 am-12:00 ET
In this 10-week essay writing workshop, 8 writers will write and share their work along with Andrea. The class will meet each week online yet face-to-face from the comfort of your homes. Andrea is in Miami. You can join from anywhere.
The stories must be true, personal, and vulnerable. Each class will start with a discussion of a published piece and then a writing prompt, which will be shared and workshopped. In addition, each student will bring in three longer pieces (per semester) to be workshopped hard and ruthlessly. This class is for writers on a mission to get better and get published.
If you are not on a mission to publish your work, this class is NOT for you.
This class is for writers who have taken a 1st or 2nd draft workshop with Writing Class Radio or have been invited. Please email andrea@writingclassradio.com to be considered.
(To secure a spot, Venmo $600 to allisonlanger@writingclassradio or sign up on Patreon at the $200 level)
Since this is a small class, we are unable to offer refunds.
From our students:
After class with Andrea today, I was thinking about how much things have changed for me over these past two years and then I remembered it was right around this time two years ago that I found the Tuesday first-draft online class with Allison. I had discovered Writing Class Radio, the podcast, and Allison talked about the Patreon for only $25 and that I could join a live online class. As the Covid lockdowns began and life for all of us changed so dramatically, I told myself, "Why not try it?" Well, as you know I fell in love with you both and all the other students and the stories we were all trying to share. I wouldn't be in my current job, an MFA program, or thinking that I could actually be a writer if it were not for the two of you and finding Writing Class Radio. I had wanted to write but I didn't know the path to take or where to begin. You guys helped me find that path.
I know you both work really hard on the podcast and your classes and I'm sure there are times you feel like you want to chuck it all but you help a lot of people grow and improve as writers and humans. You allow us to have a voice and empower so many of us who never felt we could share our story.
So on our anniversary I just wanted to tell you how appreciative I am to have you both in my life. Thank you both for all you do.
