Join us in Key Largo, Florida
Yoga is a great vehicle to get deep into ourselves and allow our stories to come out… from our heart, from our guts, from the place where they have been hiding. Alex has the unique ability to bring out what needs to be exposed, challenged, and explored.
Each day starts with Yoga with Alex overlooking the water then delicious cuban coffee or tea + organic meals prepared by Ana, the best chef ever.
Alex Anderson has been a student of Yoga and mindfulness for nearly three years. Alex says, “If there is one thing the practice of mindfulness and mindful movement has engraved into my soul is need for balance, the place where yin meets yang.”
During the day, we’ll write to prompts, workshop stories, and talk craft.
After lunch, you’ll have three hours to relax, write, schedule a massage, paddleboard, fish, kayak, play ping pong, or explore the Florida Keys.
After the sun sets, we’ll gather for another round of writing and feedback .
After dinner…

Individual and shared rooms available. You may also stay off site.

*SCHOLARSHIP: If you are a person of color and income restricted and would like to apply for a NEED-BASED scholarship, please send a short (500 word essay as a Word doc) to Andrea Askowitz (andrea@writingclassradio.com). Please include and a few sentences about how this retreat will contribute to your writing goals. Airfare and transportation are not included in the scholarship. (Writing instruction, lodging, food, and yoga is included.)
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 15, 2022.
All writers attending the workshop must submit an essay to be workshopped (650 to 850 words). Deadline is 11/15/22.
To secure your spot, please send a 50% deposit (refundable before June 1, 2022) via Venmo to Allison Langer @writingclassradio. Payment in full is due by October 31, 2022.
Cancellation policy:
We do not offer refunds because of the limited number of participants. We will try to work with you if you need to cancel for emergency reasons.If we have to cancel due to Covid or any other disaster, WE WILL RESCHEDULE. In the event we have to reschedule, you will not receive a refund. You will have the option to reschedule with us. If you can’t reschedule, and we are able to fill your spot, only then will you receive a refund.
