Key Largo Writing Workshop

Spend 5 days writing and receiving feedback with Allison and Andrea in one of the most gorgeous spots in the world.
Join us in Key Largo, Florida
*SCHOLARSHIP: If you are a person of color and income restricted and would like to apply for a full-tuition scholarship, please send a short essay (850 words as a Word doc) to Andrea Askowitz (andrea@writingclassradio.com). Please include a few sentences about your writing goals. Airfare and transportation are not included. Writing instruction, lodging, food, and yoga are all included.

Each day starts with Yoga overlooking the water then delicious cuban coffee or tea
Organic meals prepared by Ana, the best chef ever and her assistant, Ileana.
During the day, we’ll write to prompts, workshop stories, and talk craft.
Lunchtime…
After the lunch, you’ll have three hours to relax, write, paddleboard, fish, kayak, play ping pong, or explore the Florida Keys.
After the sun sets, we’ll gather for another round of writing, lessons, and feedback .
Then we dine…
And Sing…
Be prepared for Karaoke, publishing conversations, 3-minute stories, or meditation under the stars
What happens in Key Largo, gets published…
Individual and shared rooms available. You may also stay off site.
All levels welcome. Only 10 spots available.
$3500 for shared room with shared bathroom*
*Fee includes food, lodging, writing instruction, yoga, wine, coffee/tea, and all outdoor equipment. Private rooms available for and additional $1000.

All writers attending the workshop must submit an essay to be workshopped (850 words). Deadline is 9/30/24. If your essay is not submitted by that date, you will not be allowed to workshop an essay during the retreat.
Attendees please pay a 50% deposit (refundable before October 1, 2024) via Venmo to Allison Langer @writingclassradio to hold your spot. Payment or 50% must be submitted by October 1. Payment in full is due by November 1, 2024.
Cancellation policy:
We do not offer refunds because of the limited number of participants. We will try to work with you if you need to cancel for emergency reasons.If we have to cancel due to Covid or any other disaster, WE WILL RESCHEDULE. In the event we have to reschedule, you will not receive a refund. You will have the option to reschedule with us. If you can’t reschedule, and we are able to fill your spot, only then will you receive a refund.
